Yes and No. It excuses me from lots of SYSTEMIC racism and discrimination, and occasionally a step up, IF the person in question sees me as White. IMMUNE is the wrong word. Resistant is more likely. No one is immune.

For Jews, that's hit and miss. Same with many other smaller minorities, Italians, Roma, Slavs, etc, some who are powerful and some who are not. This philosophy is dangerous because it separates you from more powerful minorities. We can’t help you if you’re putting us in a group that doesn’t fit because it’s so limiting and denies our cultural and personal experiences that we have to fight you to be acknowledged. I AM an activist and could have used this energy for things that help you or both of us. If our issues are not honored as real and concerning, these more powerful groups will have both less ability and less reason to help. Why help people who insist on being slandering and selfish and insist our needs don’t exist or are a copout?

Personally? I haven't gone 3 months of my life without being discriminated against either for being considered white or non-white. I have also been treated with lots of prejudice for the same. Jewishness is not only a religion, but an early mixed-race group and tribe of people. We are not only Eastern European but also Africans from Egypt to the Sudan. I do get stopped at borders, police frequently scare me, especially in the South where I grew up, I do get questioned on whether I belong to an enslaved race or a "master" race by younger “woke” people who only see whites in this light. An UGLY question. Neither. I do get sworn at and threatened for the crime of using a dating site and 2 years ago, I was chased out of my home due to people trying to “save my soul.” They were black.

This paragraph I copied is a cut and paste from someone's book that lacks critique or analysis and excludes MANY people with its colorism. It's damaging and limited.

I see you edited this a bit. NO, it doesn’t free anyone. More fiction and denying other people’s experiences.
