To me it was not the point whether her racial view mattered or not. I don't like the current US trend with race or ethnicity or religious relations. It's an ugly mess and it's not getting better.

Some people who hate me do so because they think my "mongrel" race is inferior, some because they think my religion or culture is. No matter what I tell them, they hate me anyway.

As far as her comments, they WERE too flippant, too unfeeling, too cavalier to be discussing the death and displacement of millions of people and the trauma that follows even now. It didn't really matter because it was "just two groups of White people fighting each other" ? REALLY?

THAT'S what horrified me. In my family we know the names of those we'd lost. I hated hearing her talking about them with that tone and manner as if she were talking about unattractive lab animals who would be ended soon. And she seems to resent being askd to think about it at home after she refused to stop discussing it and stand by her apology and mean it. Not malicious? Not caring.
