The thing you didn't talk about, unless I missed it, was Hamas' continued pledge to repeat their atrocious actions and the fact that if they keep growing and keep getting help, they would eventually kill, mutilate, rape, burn, kidnap and worse, tens of thousands, even a hundred thousand Israelis if there's a ceasefire with no disarmament and removal of this terrorist government. Because Israel was left alone to solve this, they had no alternative but to fight.

As far as a Palestinian state, I've supported the notion most of my life until the events of the last 4 months.

1. We cannot allow them to have state now without disarmament and a peaceful government. (We meaning the International Community not wanting to come this way again)

2. We (see above) cannot let them see us as rewarding them for their actions. In some ways Gaza was seen as a reward for their efforts in the early 2000s. If they get more land and more control as a result of 10/7, it will only lead to more such actions.

3. I am certain Israel will change their government, but unless the Palestinian territories have a change too, we're sunk. Just yesterday I saw footage of Palestinian Authority "Policemen" training as paratroopers. They also teach their children to hate Jews and Israelis. This must change in order to get their state.

I of course have no influence or control over this. And I will never support Cornel West due to his lack of concern for Jews and Israelis in this.
