The thing is, she alienated fans with her ideas. It wasn't really Covid as much a her making fun of and being openly mean towards transgender people and other disadvantaged groups. Having a Conservative opinion is fine, making the people who pay your bills upset is another.

She's trying to leverage the political thing as a way to get off the hook, but a lot of people can have unpopular opinions without crossign those lines.
