I've never met a white person who was bothered by this before or if they did they didn't say so. But it may not bother them as much as puzzle, which is different. Europeans have more of a tradition of gathering around churches instead. Minorities have strategies to deal with simply being a minority, but this is an extra thing that's bittersweet and supportive and also beautiful. As a Jew we have a lot of supportive activities too.
