It may not be what you think it is. As a former DC area tech person now in Los Angeles, most people I know get hired and are told we’re on a 3–5 year contract. Seldom, even with performance accolades for the team, do we last that long. It’s just how things work here. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been on jobs, got rewards for me and my team, but still was only employed 9 months because politics made my team’s job unsteady. My job type is mostly Federal Contracting. So, I don’t think you’re very insightful or very able to see other’s points of view.
