I think you have used a long bolded sentence meant for something much shorter. 'Proven capapbility." One is most safe with someone who has proven themselves able to do the caring part of a partner.

The problem we're talking about isn't a problem for you, it's that women do end up alone when their older. 5-20 years older men + tendency to not live as long, say, 8 years sooner gone (sadly for all) means lots of older women with no spouse.

It's really very sad that women are told they need to marry so they won't die alone, they really mean kids, not the husband.
