I think the nature of the Charllie character and their relationship was temporary. He met her because they had sex in a bathroom. This doesn't make for LTRs. The assumption it's due to her age or weight is a superficial one and not story-based.

Excluding Meg Ryan's charachter was a bigger offense because hers had dramatic value.
