I actually believe, coming from a community of polysci's watching from a Progressive point of view, that the working class DID give us the votes i nthe Democratic primary, but were thwarted by various forms of cheating I won''t go into here. Then faced with Trump, they voted Biden in from there only reluctantly. If Romney or Cruz had been the opponent, Progressives might have otherwise actually taken the chance to vote for Bernie as a write-in or stayed home.
