Abuse is abuse no matter who does it. When I see someone publicly slap someone, no matter who it is, I not only physically flinch, but I have all sorts of emotional and physical reactions to it that last for days. Please don't invalidate that just because there's an extra later of black culture vs white culture. Her aversion to violence and attempts at emotional dominance are just as valid as anyone else's.
